Write your project brief before you ask for a quote

Answer short questions about your website, store or app and get an organised one-page brief to send to any company or developer. When everyone receives the same brief, their quotes become comparable and no important detail is forgotten.

Your project

Start with what you want to build. The next questions adapt to your answer.

Is it new?

Why a one-page brief saves money

  • Every company quotes the same scope, so you compare prices fairly.
  • Important details are decided early, before changes become expensive.
  • You get a quote instead of another round of questions.
  • Settling the goal and content early keeps the project on schedule.

Common questions

What is a project brief?
A short document, usually one page, that explains what you want to build, who it is for, what it must do, what you already have and when you need it. Companies and developers use it to understand the project and price it.
Do I need technical knowledge to use this tool?
No. The questions are about your business and your customers. If you are unsure of an answer, skip it: the brief lists what is still worth adding.
Is my brief sent to anyone automatically?
No. Your answers stay in your browser until you copy, print or send the brief yourself, to any company or developer you choose.
Does it work for apps and online stores too?
Yes. The questions change with the project type: platforms and user types for an app, product count and payment for a store, pages for a website.
How many quotes should I ask for?
Two or three is usually enough. Send the same brief to each and compare what is included line by line, not only the total.
